Ontario’s retail sector has a new funding window. The Retail Modernization Project Grant (RMPG), delivered through the Ontario Centre of Innovation’s Digitalization Competence Centre (DCC), offers eligible brick-and-mortar retailers up to $5,000 in non-repayable matching funds to adopt digital technologies.
What it covers: The grant reimburses 50% of eligible project costs — hardware, software, and direct installation costs. That includes point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, CRM tools, accounting software, digital marketing, cybersecurity upgrades, and AI-powered solutions.
Who qualifies:
– Ontario-based retailer with a physical commercial storefront open to the public (not home-based)
– Incorporated and operating for at least one year
– 1–50 full-time employees
– At least $100,000 in annual revenue before taxes
Applications are accepted on a continuous intake, first-come first-served basis. Minimum total project cost is $6,000 ($3,000 from OCI / $3,000 from the business).
How TFB helps: We design and implement custom AI management systems for retail stores — smart invoicing, inventory management, payroll workflows, and AI bookkeeping, all configured to your store’s rules — and we guide you through the RMPG application process. Final eligibility and funding decisions rest with OCI.
If you run a physical store in Ontario and have been thinking about upgrading your POS, inventory, or back-office systems, this grant cuts the cost in half. Contact FEIFEI at 437-879-6899 or visit taxfinbiz.com to discuss your project.
